Pattern Making and Garment Construction Course

This course will help you learn a range of specialist pattern cutting including industrial methods of techniques - such as block-making and sizing procedure. 

You will learn a variety of pattern cutting techniques such as:

• Basic Skirt Block
• Skirt Variations
• Basic bodice block
• Dart Manipulation
• Cut & spread
• How to add fit and flare, pleats, gathers, yokes, cowls, peplum, facings, seams and panels and finishing of the garment.
• Understanding fabric and how they work on the body, grain lines, straight grain and bias cut.
• Reading and interpretation of a design.
• Advanced pattern developments, such as kimono and raglan sleeve blocks, advanced collars and trousers.

The training is very practical as its outcome is the production of a full ready to wear range of women’s clothes that includes: skirts, shirts, tops, trousers, dresses, Indian wear- salwar, kameez, churidar, saree blouses and lehengas.

Duration: 20 weeks (300 hours)
